José González Album Packaging Design
Album packaging design for “Local Valley Remixes”, by José González – a limited edition special release for Record Store Day 2023.
This album features a collection of remixes of songs from José González’ “Local Valley” album, and I wanted the cover to emphasize this by remixing the artwork as well. Where the original album was dark and printed on uncoated paper, this one is remixed with a light background and we used three vibrant Pantone neon colors on the artwork – all enclosed in glassy UV varnish.
I based the vector drawings on the original Local Valley artwork (beautifully illustrated by Hannele Fernström) with some tweaks here and there.
The assignment included album packaging design and vector illustrated artwork.
