Laurelina Langhe Nebbiolo Wine Label Design
For Laurelina’s first wine, the Langhe Nebbiolo DOC, I had the opportunity to design the labels. This project involved art direction, graphic design, and illustration, building on the brand identity and label concept I established for Laurelina.
The wine label framework for Laurelina revolves around the use of bay leaf illustrations, symbolizing the brand’s name. Each Laurelina wine features a unique bay leaf illustration, allowing for variation in design and print techniques. For the Langhe Nebbiolo, I created an illustration of two bay leaves in different red-violet hues. This design choice reflects the complexity of the Nebbiolo grape variety while also serving as an eye-catching element.
It’s available at Systembolaget (No. 70407)
This assignment is an extension of the project where I was responsible for the logotype design & identity, wine label concept, and packaging design for four different wines.
Label Details and Printing Techniques
The label for Laurelina’s Langhe Nebbiolo DOC features an illustration of two bay leaves in varying shades of red-violet, symbolizing the complexity of the Nebbiolo grape. Gold hot foiling is applied to the Laurelina symbol and the ornamented lines around the vintage year, adding elegance and tradition. The wine name and Laurelina wordmark are printed using serigraphy with embossed high-build tactile gloss varnish, giving a raised, modern touch. The label is printed on uncoated Tintoretto paper, providing a traditional, timeless feel.
This project not only highlights the complexity and elegance of the Nebbiolo grape but also exemplifies the cohesive visual identity of Laurelina, blending traditional wines with modern design techniques.
