Be realistic. Demand the impossible.

Oh, hello! I’m Robert Samsonowitz, an army of one running a multidisciplinary design studio in Gothenburg, Sweden.

It’s a design studio, an ink tank, an art-making cave, a photo studio, a drawing den, a designery – and I call it RBRT CREATIVE. Or, in short, bold letters with a slash: RBRT/CRTV.

I designed my first record sleeve in 1993 using a photocopier, a ruler, glue and a pair of scissors. Around the same time, I took my first photography class and began exploring composition, light and image-making.

More than three decades later, I work with visual identities, art direction, album and packaging design, books and publications, apparel, posters, websites, typography and type design. I still enjoy picking up a camera whenever the right project comes along.

Over the years, I have helped artists, record labels, organizations and businesses communicate ideas, shape identities and reach their audiences through design, typography and image-making.

Much of my work has been rooted in music, where an album project often extends far beyond the cover itself. I have developed visual concepts and design systems for album releases, working across physical packaging, digital singles, promotional material, merchandise and other visual assets. In several projects, I have also taken on a design supervision role, helping to maintain a coherent visual direction throughout the release.

I have done work for a wide range of clients. For more than 25 years, my clients have ranged from small local businesses to advocacy organizations, from independent artists to international record labels and from music festivals to global companies.

My work has included visual identities, album artwork and packaging and print materials for projects ranging from empowerment initiatives in Africa to album releases for record labels in New York.
